Traveler’s Guide: Everything You Need to Know
Visa & Entry Requirements
✔ A valid visa is required for entry into Tanzania, available online or upon arrival at Dar es Salaam and Kilimanjaro airports.
✔ Passports must be valid for at least six months beyond your entry date.
Health & Safety
✔ No mandatory vaccinations, but malaria prophylaxis is highly recommended.
✔ Wear long-sleeved clothing and closed shoes in the evenings to prevent insect bites.
✔ Emergency medical services are included in all safari packages.
Baggage Allowance
✔ 15 kg luggage limit for air transfers to national parks.
✔ Soft bags are recommended over hard-shell suitcases.
Security & Wildlife Guidelines
✔ Always follow safety instructions from guides and staff.
✔ Do not explore alone – our locations are home to wild animals.
✔ Swimming pool safety is strictly enforced at Manyara Lodge.
✔ During game drives, do not feed or exit vehicles except in designated areas.

Currency & Payments
✔ Tanzanian Shilling (TZS) is the official currency.
✔ USD (cash only) is widely accepted. Credit cards may incur transaction fees.
✔ ATMs are not available in national parks—exchange currency in cities.
✔ USD bills from before 2006 are NOT accepted in Tanzania.
Tipping Etiquette
✔ Tip safari guides separately from lodge staff.
✔ A tip box is available at our lodges for staff gratuities.
