Spend a full week exploring the highlights of the Northern Safari Circuit on this 7-day tour, which pairs classic wildlife viewing with a scenic day on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. You’ll see breathtaking wildlife across some of the most diverse landscapes in the country: lions, cheetahs, and leopards on the hunt, herds of wildebeest and zebra moving across open plains, elephants gathering among the acacias, and a huge variety of animals living inside the Ngorongoro Crater, a collapsed volcano. The journey also takes you to the world-famous Serengeti National Park, where endless grasslands and big cats make for some of the best game viewing in Africa. Beyond the safari, you’ll visit the Materuni Waterfalls, where a gentle walk through lush banana groves and coffee farms leads to a stunning cascade, with a chance to meet local Chagga families and taste freshly brewed coffee. With an experienced guide and a well-balanced itinerary, this tour is an ideal mix of wildlife, nature, and culture.
The Chagga village, coffee tasting, and banana grove details are my additions, so adjust them to match your actual itinerary.

In places, the vegetation is quite dense, including elephant grass, acacia woodlands, and lush groundwater forest. The park is well known for its elephant families, which can often be seen congregating by the river. You may also see giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests. You’ll be up early to proceed to Ngorongoro, the 8th Wonder of the Natural World. The concentration of African wildlife is the greatest on the continent. It is almost 20 km wide, approximately 610 m deep, and is known for its large variety of wildlife. In addition to the Big Five, the various springs attract animals such as wildebeests, gazelles, reedbuck, and more than 500 bird species. At a picnic site, you will have lunch before enjoying some more game viewing in the crater. The crater has a river, several swamps, a soda lake with a great concentration of flamingos, a forest, and open plains. It’s also famous for its elephants, which are the largest in the world and have huge tusks. This is due to the rich mineral content of the volcanic soil and its grasses. Ngorongoro Crater is truly a Wonder of the Natural World. You will reach your lodge in time for a beautiful sunset and time to relax.

Pink flamingos stoop and graze by the thousands of colorful specks against the grey minerals of the lake shore. Yellow-billed storks swoop and corkscrew on thermal rising from the escarpment, and herons flap their wings against the sun-drenched sky. Even reluctant bird watchers will find something to watch and marvel at within the national park, like hippos. You will have a packed lunch served at a picnic site.
