Life on Safari
You will be picked up from your accommodation in Arusha and head to Tarangire National Park in the Manyara region. The park’s name originates from the Tarangire River, which crosses it.
The 6th-largest national park in Tanzania, covering 2,600 square kilometers, Tarangire is best known for its large elephant herds. It is usually very dry, in fact, drier than the Serengeti. However, its vegetation is much greener, with lots of grass, vast areas of mixed acacia woodlands, and some wonderful ribbons of aquatic forest. Also, don’t forget the giant baobab trees, which can live up to 600 years and store between 300 and 900 liters of water.
