ABOUT US
Sangaiwe Tented Lodge is proud to be a member of the Bougainvillea Group of Lodges, founded by Jacob Ombay and Reginald Bayo—two visionary businessmen from Karatu. What started as a small lodge in Karatu has grown into a collection of camps and lodges across northern Tanzania.
Sadly, Jacob passed in early 2021, but his children continue his legacy, ensuring that the group remains committed to excellence in Tanzanian hospitality and sustainable tourism. Regie remains active in the Karatu community and is well known in Tanzania’s greater tourism industry.
