Life on Safari
Your journey begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Arusha, where you will meet your professional driver-guide. After a short briefing, depart for Tarangire National Park, approximately a 2-hour drive.
Tarangire is renowned for its diverse landscapes, iconic baobab trees, and the largest concentration of elephants in Tanzania. During your game drive, you will have excellent opportunities to observe elephant families interacting, along with sightings of giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and other herbivores. Predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards are present but may be more elusive.
At midday, enjoy a picnic lunch at the Tarangire River, a vital water source that attracts wildlife throughout the year. You may notice curious monkeys and baboons nearby—an entertaining part of the experience.
In the afternoon, continue your game drive before exiting the park around 4:30 PM and heading to your lodge in Mto wa Mbu.

After breakfast, depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater.
This ancient volcanic caldera features fertile soils that support a wide variety of habitats, making it one of the best places in Africa to see the Big Five in a single day. You may encounter lions, buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, gazelles, and a wide range of bird species around Lake Magadi.
While giraffes are not found within the crater due to its steep walls, you may spot them in the surrounding highlands. The crater is also home to Maasai communities living in traditional bomas, adding cultural richness to the landscape.
After your game drive and picnic lunch, ascend the crater and return to Arusha for overnight.
