Make the most of a short getaway with this 4-day fly-in safari that begins and ends in Zanzibar, trading long road transfers for more time among the wildlife. You’ll explore three of the Northern Circuit’s top destinations: the Central Serengeti, the southern Serengeti plains, and the Ngorongoro Crater. Spending two nights in the Ndutu area gives you time to enjoy the calving season, when thousands of wildebeest and zebra gather on the nutrient-rich southern plains between December and March to give birth. Newborn calves take their first wobbly steps while lions, cheetahs, and hyenas watch from the edges, creating a breathtaking natural spectacle. In the Central Serengeti you’ll find big cats, elephants, and wide-open savannah, and the Ngorongoro Crater adds a dense concentration of wildlife inside a vast volcanic caldera. It’s an efficient, memorable way to see some of Tanzania’s best wildlife without giving up your beach time.

The mention of specific predators and animals in the Central Serengeti and the Crater are my additions, so adjust them to match your actual itinerary.

Day 1: Zanzibar Airport to Seronera Airstrip

Your journey begins with a hotel pick-up, followed by a flight from Zanzibar Airport to the Serengeti airstrip. Arriving in the Serengeti in the late morning, you’ll embark on a series of game drives, exploring the wildlife-rich landscapes until the afternoon. Afterward, you’ll return to the lodge for a satisfying lunch before setting out on another exciting game drive, culminating in the breathtaking spectacle of a Serengeti sunset. This day promises an immersive safari experience in one of Africa’s most iconic wildlife destinations.

"Our guide Emmanuel was incredible — he spotted a leopard and two lion cubs that three other vehicles completely missed. The most magical experience of our lives."
