Experience an exclusive 5-day private safari timed for the wildebeest calving season in Ndutu, where dramatic wildlife encounters unfold daily. Each year, usually between December and March, thousands of wildebeest and zebra gather on the nutrient-rich southern plains to give birth, and the sight of newborn calves taking their first steps is one you will not forget. Predators such as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas are never far away, so the action is constant and the sightings are up close. Traveling privately means your own guide and vehicle, with the freedom to set a pace that suits you and to stay with a sighting for as long as you like. The accommodation combines the charm of tented camps with the comfort of lodge stays, giving you a perfect balance of adventure and relaxation.

With personalized service throughout, this safari is a memorable way to witness the migration at one of its most dramatic moments.

Life on Safari

1
Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

We will pick you up from your hotel, and after getting you acquainted with your guide, transfer you to Tarangire National Park (a two-hour drive). Tarangire is known for its abundant, ancient baobab trees and boasts the largest concentration of elephants in the country. You’ll have unique opportunities to observe the interaction between elephant families. During our game drive through the park, we’ll focus on areas with reported animal sightings, with a special emphasis on predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards (since they are more elusive). Herbivores like giraffes, wildebeests, and zebras are also plentiful throughout the park.

Later, you will visit the Tarangire River picnic site to enjoy lunch with a beautiful view of the river and the surrounding wildlife. Keep in mind that small monkeys and baboons may try to steal your lunch, but there is nothing to worry about.
