Tarangire National Park unfolds as the realm of majestic elephants traversing the open plains, lions asserting their presence, and zebras adding their distinct calls to the wild chorus. In the dry season, Tarangire proudly hosts the world’s largest elephant population, making it an essential stop on your journey. The park is equally renowned for its captivating baobab trees, towering termite mounds, and extensive expanses of grassy savannah plains and tranquil swamps. It is a truly exceptional place, rightfully recognized on the UNESCO World Heritage List. As you descend into the crater, you’ll find yourself in a vast expanse teeming with wildlife. The steep crater walls ascend from 400 to 610 meters above the crater floor, covering a base area of 264 square kilometers (with a diameter of 19 kilometers). In the afternoon, your journey will continue towards Arusha, where you’ll enjoy an overnight stay and prepare for the adventures that await you on the following day.
