Start your married life with a 4-day mid-range safari made for honeymooners and adventure seekers alike. Your journey begins in Tarangire National Park, where giant baobab trees and large elephant herds set the stage for the days ahead. From there you head to the Ndutu region, where you spend nearly two days exploring the wildlife-rich plains and woodlands around Lake Ndutu. Visit during the calving season, typically January to March, and you can witness thousands of wildebeest and zebra giving birth, with predators following close behind. A full day is then devoted to the Ngorongoro Crater, a vast volcanic caldera that shelters lions, rhinos, hippos, and many other animals within its walls. Add a hot air balloon ride to float over the landscape at sunrise for a truly romantic highlight. Covering some of the top sights of the Ngorongoro landscape in a well-paced itinerary, this is an ideal getaway for newlyweds who want romance, wildlife, and adventure in one unforgettable trip.
The calving season dates and the balloon ride details are my additions, so adjust them to match your actual offering, since balloon rides are usually operated in the Serengeti rather than Ndutu.
Life on Safari
After breakfast at your hotel in Arusha, you will begin your safari journey from Arusha to Tarangire National Park. Known for its abundant wildlife, Tarangire is especially vibrant during the Dry season from June to September, when thousands of animals, such as wildebeest, buffalo, and oryx, migrate from the dry Maasai plains to the Tarangire River in search of water. Predators like lions and leopards closely follow these herds. The park also hosts over 500 bird species. Enjoy lunch and continue with a late afternoon game drive, then head to Suricata Boma Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

The crater also hosts a variety of birds, including flamingos on the soda lake, geese, storks, and vultures. Enjoy lunch at the picnic site near Ngoitoktok Swamp, a hippo pool.
