Enjoy a comfortable mid-range safari through three of northern Tanzania’s most rewarding destinations. Your journey begins in Tarangire National Park, where giant baobab trees and large elephant herds set the scene for the days ahead. You then spend nearly two days exploring the Lake Ndutu region, where the migration herds gather on the plains and woodlands around the lake. If you travel during the calving season, usually between December and March, you may see thousands of wildebeest and zebra giving birth, with predators close behind. A full day is then devoted to the Ngorongoro Crater, a vast volcanic caldera that shelters lions, rhinos, hippos, and many other animals within its walls. Covering some of Tanzania’s top highlights, including the migration and the stunning Ngorongoro landscape, this well-paced itinerary offers a comfortable and unforgettable holiday experience.
Life on Safari
Depart Arusha in the morning in a 4×4 safari vehicle for a scenic drive to the Ndutu area, within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and the Southern Serengeti ecosystem. Along the way, enjoy spectacular views of the Great Rift Valley, traditional Maasai villages, and the surrounding highlands. Upon entering Ndutu, the transfer becomes an exciting game drive as you explore the vast plains, home to elephants, giraffes, zebras, gazelles, and abundant birdlife. During the calving season, thousands of wildebeest gather here to give birth, attracting predators such as lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas. Continue your wildlife viewing en route to your lodge or tented camp, arriving in the late afternoon for dinner and an overnight stay surrounded by the African wilderness.
