Tarangire is Tanzania’s 6th largest national park and is named after the Tarangire River, which runs through it. The park is especially famous for its large elephant herds and seasonal wildlife concentrations.
Despite being drier than the Serengeti, Tarangire features lush vegetation, including acacia woodlands, seasonal swamps, and iconic giant baobab trees that can live for centuries. During the dry season, animals gather around the river, creating exceptional game viewing.

This UNESCO World Heritage Site is one of Africa’s most extraordinary ecosystems, formed millions of years ago by a volcanic eruption. The crater is home to an estimated 25,000 animals, including wildebeests, zebras, elephants, buffaloes, and over 500 bird species.
It is also one of the best places in Africa to spot the endangered black rhino in its natural habitat. After a picnic lunch inside the crater, you will ascend and drive back to Arusha for drop-off at your hotel or airport.
